Bexel was founded in 1981 in Burbank, CA. Bexel is the premier rental house in the USA and the industry leader in video production support. The Bexel Network of regional offices began in 1989, with the first satellite in Irvine, CA., followed by New York City in 1992, Miami in 1994, Atlanta in 1995, Dallas in 1996, Seattle in 1997, Washington DC in 1998 and Chicago and Orlando in 2004.

Bexel’s specialty professional audio services have grown with the acquisition of Burbank-based Intercom Specialties and Washington DC-based Systems Wireless, Ltd. (both in 1998) – both now integrated into the Audio Specialties Group (ASG).

The Used Equipment Sales division (now branded as BVG) was established in 1990.
